Who we are
Yesly is an affirmations app made by Matthew Lee ("we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy, email us at support@tryyesly.com.
What stays on your phone
Yesly stores the following only on your device, inside the app (and, for the home and lock screen widgets, in a small shared space that only Yesly and its widgets can read):
- Your answers from the welcome questions, such as your first name, age range, gender, how you found us, your mood, the topics you picked and the goal you wrote.
- Your favourites, the affirmations you write yourself and your widget settings.
- Your voice recordings.
- Your streak, daily goal, reminders and alarms.
- Your settings, such as your narrator voice and background sound.
None of this is sent to us. We can't see it, and we can't recover it for you if it's deleted.
Microphone and speech recognition
Yesly only uses the microphone when you tap the microphone button: to record an affirmation in your own voice, to check you've said your affirmation (for example, to switch off your alarm), or during the "Try it now" step. Recordings are saved on your device, and you can play, replace or delete them at any time.
To check the words you say, Yesly uses Apple's speech recognition. On iPhones that support it, this happens entirely on your device. On some devices or languages, Apple may process the audio on its own servers to turn it into text. That's handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, and we never receive the audio or the text. Speech Recognition is optional: without it, Yesly still records, and you tap to stop.
Reminders and alarms
Reminder notifications and alarms are scheduled on your iPhone by iOS. They don't go through us.
Subscriptions
Yesly Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles your payment, and we never see your card or bank details. To check whether your subscription is active, Yesly uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID created for the app (not your name or email), your purchase and subscription details from Apple, and basic device and app information such as your country, iOS version and app version. RevenueCat's own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or share your personal information.
- We don't show ads, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Children
Yesly isn't made for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. Because your data stays on your device, there's nothing for us to delete, but if you're a parent with a question, contact us.
Your choices
- Delete your data: in Yesly, go to Me → Settings → Delete all my data. Deleting the app also removes everything it stored.
- Permissions: you can turn the microphone, Speech Recognition, notifications and alarms on or off at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
- Backups: if you back up your iPhone (to iCloud or a computer), iOS may include Yesly's data in that backup. That's handled by Apple and controlled by you.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Yesly handles your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll also mention it in the app.
